CHRISTMAS 2011
Our three groups here in B.C. are busy with the Festive activities of the Season. Langley Group had a Gathering on the first week in December, enjoyed by all. We had our Candlelight Service in Surrey on the 11th of December. Everyone was in good voice and pictures were taken. As usual we enjoyed a wonderful Pot Luck Lunch afterwards. Next week we are here in Mission for our special healing service to send out our love to the world.
Sadly Ross Town had a fall and had to go to the hospital for awhile. He is now doing well and is settled in a nursing home where he has lots of company. He is keeping in touch with us in the groups and of course is in our thoughts and prayers.
Happily our family has grown a little in the last year. We hope to welcome others, all are welcome. We are always happy to welcome travelling White Eaglers if you find yourselves in our area, and we look forward to our visit from Hilda from Oz in July.
We look forward to our continuing work as we press on into 2012. We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and all the many Blessings for the future in 2012
AUTUMN 2011
A very warm hello from B.C.
As summer wanes into autumn, we remember the pleasantries of summer; the grain ripening in the fields ready for harvesting, the dappled sunlight through the trees on a cool, sunny afternoon.
As the days grow shorter, many people are sad to see summer fade. The leaves on the trees glow in colour as they turn from green to brilliant red, orange or gold. It is the season of the autumn equinox when all nature starts to slow down for its winter rest before becoming rejuvenated for the Spring.
Many Christian churches throughout the world celebrate the harvest festival. The congregation brings the fruits of the earth; vegetables, nuts and berries and even a bough or two from a colourful tree to decorate the front of the altar. God’s bounty from Mother Earth. The children take part by bringing sheaves of wheat.
In B.C. there are certain parts along the coastline that are rainforest areas. The wildlife is active in the fall; eagles feeding on the salmon, the spirit bears along the Vancouver Island coast forage for food before their winter hibernation. Hibernation comes all too quickly for the black, brown and grizzly bears that we are most fortunate to have on the Pacific coast.
We thank God for the universal brotherhood we have around the world, and to be part of nature and all nature’s habitants. Picture then, all the brethren gathered in the hush of an evening, listening to the wind sough through the trees, knowing we are all under the great canopy of the Great White Spirit.
So as the equinox sun is in Libra, when all nature in our part of the world starts to slow down, we thank God for the brotherhood of all life, for the hush that falls over the earth, for the experiences of life this past year, giving one to another, also reflecting on the year to come as we hold fast in thought and prayer in sending out the Christ Light to all creation.
On September 29th we celebrated the festival of St. Michael and all Angels. The Archangel Michael is one of the Sun spirits, a messenger from the Sun, the sphere of the Cosmic Christ, and the sword that he wields is that of spiritual truth, which Christ places in the hand of every one of his followers. It is a time when the angels from the heavens are drawing very close, breaking through the barriers of darkness and unbelief, bringing the Light to all humankind. So place your hand in the hand of your neighbour, friend, loved one, and know that you are passing on the Light of God.
Peace and love be with you all.
From all at the B.C. Lodge.
